NEWARK VALLEY - Alex Umiker and Kyle Pratt combined to roll six 200-plus games and lead Newark Valley to a 4-0 IAC Large School victory over Waverly at Cardinal Lanes Thursday.

Waverly won the girls match, 4-0.

BOYS
Umiker scored a league-high game of 290 and recorded a 707 series, fourth best in the league. He also rolled games 213 and 204. Pratt tallied 214, 202 an 213 to finish with a 629 series. Jason Brown contributed a 208-527 and Sam Umiker posted a 204-521. Lucas Frank added a 170-437 and John Fiacco had a 137-391.

The Cardinals won the total pinfall, 2822-2716, on scores of 914-862, 964-933 and 944-921. Their record improved to 32-16.

Zach Vanderpool chalked up a 638 series for the Wolverines on games of 215, 213 and 210 while Derrick Canfield had a 211-574.

GIRLS
Waverly won with scores of 852-511, 797-528, and 839-597, giving the team a 2488-1636 advantage in total pinfall.

Rachel Houseknecht rolled a 237-562 and Sarah Uhl had a 193-549 to pace the Wolverines, who are now 35 1/2-4 1/2.

Victoria Mellum led NV with a 163-386. Rosie Hines had a 138-371 and Lauren Gwardayak added a 155-364. Emily Vanpatten and Hunter Gorsline had 245 and 233 series, respectively, and Hunter Williams chipped in with a 105 game.

Newark Valley hosts Groton Thursday.
