STAC BOWLING: OWEGO BOYS STAY AHEAD OF U-E DESPITE LOSS (2019-01-16)
Tioga County Sports ReportOWEGO - The Owego boys came into Wednesday's match with U-E at Owego Bowl in fourth place in the STAC Metro division and holding a 3-point edge over the Tigers. Defending STAC champ U-E would win the match, 3.5-1.5, allowing the home team to remain in fourth place. The U-E girls team, also the defending STAC champ, won 5-0.
BOYSThe Indians won the opening game, 793-749, then both teams rolled 894 in game two. U-E would take the final game, 914-861, giving the Tigers a 2557-2548 edge in total pinfall.
Qwinten Adams paced Owego with a 646 series which included games of 234 and 217. Gabe Avery rolled a 180-502 and Cole Dalton scored a 176-483. Nathan Travis contributed a 187 game, Tyler Taft had a 170 and Quentin Hollister added a 150.
Mark Schneider led U-E with games of 202, 237 and 234 for a 676 series.
GIRLSU-E won by scores of 867-698, 885-623 and 875-609, and claimed the total pinfall, 2627-1930.
Ashley Cicciarelli rolled a 204-554 and Christina Shord shot 219-549 to lead the Tigers.
Hayley Classen scored 193-496 to pace Owego. Abby Shirley contributed a 167-458, Hayley Stephens had a 139-382 and Lillie Carrigan-Bauer added a122-308. Maylee Hnning had a 178 series and Victoria Reigle had a 108 game.
JVIn the boys match, U-E won, 5-0, by scores of 730-692, 722-663 and 619-504 and took the total pinfall, 2071-1867.
Ryan Sistenstein rolled a 194-505 for U-E.
For Owego, William Waldron scored a 157-434. Hunter Harbst had a 160 game, Laine Underwood a 147, Luke Jacoby a 140 and Levi Stanton a 136.
Owego had just two girls competing as U-E won the girls match, 5-0. Chloe Truesdale led U-E with 191-469. Maddie Mosher and Victoria Kobylarz recorded 265 and 247 series, respectively.
The varsity boys team visits Binghamton Tuesday.
