IAC JV GIRLS BASKETBALL: CANDOR'S DOUBLE-DIGIT TRIO NOT ENOUGH TO TOP SOUTHERN CAYUGA (2019-01-14)

CANDOR  - Three Candor players scored in double figures, but the Indians came up short against Southern Cayuga in IAC JV crossover action here Friday, 45-35.

Pearl Ricardo drained a trio of 3-pointers and shared team scoring honors, each of them posting 11 points. Mackenzie Marsh pitched in with another 10 point, going 8-for-10 at the free throw line. Cadriana Edwards had the other three points, going 3-for-5 at the stripe.

Southern Cayuga took a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter as Audrey Brown and Bridget Davis score six points apiece.

Candor trimmed the lead to 22-17 at the half as Swartz hit for a pair of baskets, Ricardo notched her first trey, and Marsh sank four free throws.

However, the Chiefs erupted for 16 points in the third period to increase their advantage to 38-25 as Nikeya Rodriguz scored 10 points and Davis added six.

Ricardo notched two treys and a field goal in the fourth quarter as the Indians outscored SC, 10-7.

Davis led Southern Cayuga with 15 points and Rodriguez finished with 14.

Candor visits Tioga Tuesday.
