IAC BOYS BASKETBALL: NEWARK VALLEY OFFENSE COOLS OFF IN LOSS TO WHITNEY POINT (2019-01-11)

WHITNEY POINT - Newark Valley's recent surge of high-scoring games came to a halt as Whitney Point dealt the Cardinals a 72-41 setback in IAC crossover action here Friday.

NV managed to score just seven points in each of the first two quarters while the Golden Eagles hammered out 21 in each.

The Cardinals pumped out 20 in the third, but were held to seven again in the final period.

Andrew Obregon paced NV with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Kyle Coffin scored nine, and Riley Malone and Micah Williams added four apiece.

Levi Burns chalked up a double-double for the Eagles, scoring 16 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. Tanner Kallfelz had 18 points and Jake Kemak scored 11, accounting for three treys apiece.

Newark Valley (4-9, 1-3 South Large) hosts Waverly (5-6, 3-1 South Large) Tuesday.
