UNION SPRINGS - Paige Grube caught fire in the second half and S-VE rallied to defeat Union Springs, 45-43, in IAC crossover action Tuesday.

Grube scored all of her game-high 19 points after the break and the Panthers overcame a 3-point halftime deficit. She cashed in with a trio of 3-pointers in the third quarter as S-VE outscored the Wolves, 13-8, to take a 27-25 edge.

Both teams lit up the scoreboard in the fourth quarter, each scoring 18 points. Grube and Madelynn Pasto highlighted the S-VE effort with 3-pointers.

"We played with a lot of intensity," S-VE head coach Abby Gentile said. "The girls really played hard tonight and hit many clutch shots down the stretch."

Pasto contributed eight points to the Panther win, as did Tara Perkins. Ava Bruehwiler added six points and seven rebounds; Sam Deppe had four points and three assists; and Madi Sousa handed out four assists. Grube also had eight boards and four assists.

Renee Park and Andy Kalet scored 14 and 12 points, respectively, for Union Springs.

S-VE hosts Groton Friday.
