ELMIRA The Candor girls picked up a point on Odessa-Montour in the IAC Small School standings Tuesday, sweeping Edison by a 4-0 verdict at Rossi Lanes. The victory pushed the Indians record to 33-11 while O-M is 30-14 after defeating Groton, 3-1.
Edison won the boys match with Candor, 4-0.
Stacy Emond rolled a 162-442 and May Marsh scored a 186-430 to lead the Candor charge. Sarah Emond chipped in with a 154-424 and Alexis Karabec added a 159-402. Kaitlyn Johnston shot 132-385 and Olivia Bennett had a 129-345.
The Indians won by scores of 787-387, 625-352, 695-422 and took the total pinfall, 2107-1161.
Elizabeth Kelley paced an understaffed Spartan team with a 169-457.
Edison posted wins of 748-695, 739-615, 803-664 and 2290-1974 in total pinfall.
Garrett Lindhorst rolled a 174-457 and Ethan Howe had a 154-416 for Candor. Carson Howe added a 163-394, Matt Fitch had a 133-391, Devin Benesh shot a 119-316 and Storm Andrews added a 230 series.
Kenny Mattison set the stage for the Spartans scoring a 223-600.
Candor hosts Marathon at Owego Bowl Thursday.
