OWEGO - Prior to Friday's game, Owego honored head coach Chris Evans for collecting his 100th career victory - then proceeded to give him No. 101 with a 67-50 victory over Horseheads.

The Indians shut down Horseheads offense in the final period while pouring in 25 points to pull away.

The Blue Raiders trailed, 20-11, after a quarter as Evan Hamed and Christian Sage canned 3-pointers to give Owego a 7-1 start, and Kobe Bogart knocked down a pair of threes later in the period.

Bogart added another trey in the second period and had seen of the Indians' nine points. Meanwhile, Michael Limoncello drained a trio of 3-pointers and Lewis Clearwater added five points as Horseheads trimmed the lead down to 29-27 at the half.

The Raiders sank a half-dozen free throws in the third period, Clearwater had eight points and Zach Malzeke added a pair of buckets to put Horseheads right back in the game, trailing 42-41 heading into the fourth.

Hamed tacked on two more threes in the final period, and Nate Bennett and Devon Johnson canned one apiece while the defense held the Raiders to nine points. Sage added seven points and Bogart had five more.

Bogart finished with a game-high 27 points, Sage had 14, Mike Wasyln put up another 10 and Hamed finished with nine.

Limoncelli an Clearwater paced Horseheads with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

As for honoring Evans, the team gave him a signed ball before the game, recognizing his reaching the century mark in victories at the STOP-DWI Winter Classic last weekend.

Owego (3-0) visits Elmira Tuesday.
