YOUTH WRESTLING: SEVERAL LOCAL TOURNEYS DOT CALENDAR (2018-11-29)

Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY - Local youth wrestlers can hit the mats close to home several times during the month of December.

OWEGO
The first event in Tioga County will be held at Owego Free Academy on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Owego Pee Wee Wrestling Novice Tournament. This event is for wrestlers up to age 12 with no more than two years experience.

The tourney is pre-registration only and entry forms must be received no later than Saturday, Dec. 1.

WAVERLY
A week later, on Sunday, Dec. 16, grapplers can get more action at the Waverly Novice 5-man Round Robin Tournament.

The tourney is open to wrestlers up to age 12 who are in their first or second year of wrestling.

The tournament is being held at Waverly High School. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. with check-in running from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wrestling starts at 9:30 a.m. The entry fee is $23 per wrestler. Make checks payable to Waverly Wrestling Club

S-VE
Close out the year on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Spencer-Van Etten Youth Association Wrestling Tournament at S-VE High School.

Registration is due no later than Thursday, Dec. 27, and walk-ins will not be accepted.

Check-in is 7-8 a.m. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $30 per wrestler.

OWEGO
Owego Youth Wrestling will hold an open round robin tournament Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at Owego Free Academy.

Check-in is 7-8 a.m. and wrestling begins at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $25 per wrestler and pre-registration is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted. The tournament is open to wrestlers up to age 12.

OTHER TOURNAMENTS
Outside of Tioga County, the 21st Annual Athens Little Cats Wrestling Classic will be held Sunday, Dec. 9 at Athens High School.

The registration fee is $25 and the deadline is 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. Wrestlers must check in by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the tournament and wrestling starts at 9:30 a.m. Walk-ins will not be allowed.
