HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: OWEGO RUNNERS COMPETE IN NIKE CROSS REGIONAL MEET (2018-11-27)

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Owego's Nate Bowers and Cameron Szabo logged top-10 finishes in the New York Boys Open Race at the 2018 Nike Cross Regional Championships held here Saturday.

Bowers placed fourth in the field of 254 competitors, posting a time of 17:20.3 over the 5,000-meter at Bowdoin Park layout. Szabo crossed the finish line ninth, clocking 17:43.6. The duo competed for Indian Racing, a team made up of members of Owego's cross country team.

Gavin Watkins placed 40th with a time of 18:20.3, James McDonald took 95th in 19:16.4 and Eaan Hackett was 106th in 19:29 to give the team 175 points, good for sixth place.

Also competing were Joel Choynowski (117th, 19:38.6) and Lewis Race (164th, 20:22.5).
