COLLEGE CROWD: OWEGO GRAD GLADNEY TIES CAREER TD RECEPTION RECORD (2018-11-19)

ITHACA - Owego grad Will Gladney tied the Ithaca College career touchdown reception record Saturday, but the Bombers came up short in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl at Cornell University's Schoellkopf Field.

Utica College upset the Bombers, 44-42, with a 36-yard field goal and an interception, both in the final minute of play.

Gladney, a junior wide receiver, caught three TD passes, giving him 22 and tying him with George Mack, who accomplished the feat in the 1982-83 and 1985-86 seasons. Gladney finished the game with 14 catches for 236 yards, the second-most receiving yards in a single game.

Sophomore quarterback Wahid Nabi completed35 of 59 pass attempt for a school record 524 yards. he also tied his own record of six TD passes.

Ithaca rolled up 569 yards offense and the Pioneers had 525.  

Utica wide receiver Peyton Miller, a junior from Waverly, caught eight passes for 95 yards and a touchdown.

Pioneers QB Logan Wilcox was named the MVP, throwing for 467 yards and two TDs.

Ithaca finished the season with an 8-3 record while Utica ended at 7-4.
