COLLEGE CROWD: OWEGO GRAD GLADNEY CONTRIBUTES TO CORTACA JUG VICTORY (2018-11-12)

Tioga County Sports Report
CORTLAND - Owego grad Will Gladney caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Wahid Nabi to give Ithaca College a 21-0 halftime lead as the Bombers held off SUNY Cortland to win the 60th Cortaca Jug game here Saturday, 24-21. It was Gladney's fifth TD reception in three Cortaca Jug contests.

The victory gives IC a 41-33-3 all-time record against the Red Dragons.

The junior wide receiver had four receptions for 47 yards, giving him 54 receptions for 634 yards and six TDs this season.  Gladney added to his school records for career receptions (109) and career yards (2,177). He also has 19 TD receptions.

Despite playing just eight games, Gladney leads the Bombers this season in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, and is second in receptions.

Ithaca finished the season with an 8-2 overall record and were 4-1 in the Liberty League.

Despite their record and a No. 28 national record, the Bombers were denied an at-large berth in the 32-team NCAA Division III playoffs (only 6 at-large bids are awarded).

Note: In 2019, the Cortaca Jug game will be played on Nov. 16 at MetLife Stadium, home of the NFL's New York Giants and Jets.
