Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY - It's a light day with just two events on the schedule.
Highlighting the activities is the Section IV Class B boys soccer playoffs with eighth-seeded Owego (0-14) hosting No. 9 Union Springs / Port Byron (5-9-1). The game will be played on the Christy J. Valvo Stadium turf at 6 p.m.
The winner heads to Oneonta Saturday afternoon to face the top-seeded and unbeaten Yellow Jackets (13-0). There are only three unbeaten, untied Class B teams remaining in the entire state - the Jackets are one of them.
The only other item on the calendar has Owego visiting Vestal for some volleyball action with a 5:30 p.m. JV start.
The Indians (10-1), ranked No. 2 in the state in Class B, swept their previous STAC meeting, 3-0, and also beat the Golden Bears (4-5), 2-0, at the Windsor tournament.
