TIOGA COUNTY - The Owego boys golf team takes center stage today as teams hit the links at Enjoie Golf Club for the Section IV tournament.

Juniors Brendan Evans and Nick Purtell have been the Indians' No. 1 and No. 2 players, respectively, all season. Both players competed in the STAC championship last week with Purtell placing 19th and Evans taking 40th in a field of 62 competitors.

Vestal, fresh off winning the STAC team title, is favored to take top honors.

FIELD HOCKEY
Newark Valley (7-7) vs. Sherburne-Earlville (7-8-1) at Windsor, 3:30 p.m.: The Cardinals have a sectional tournament tune-up with the Marauders on neutral ground.

VOLLEYBALL
Candor (13-0) at Odessa-Montour, 5 p.m. JV start: Candor can win the IAC South Small School championship with a win and dethrone 5-time defending champion Tioga in the process.  Candor won the previous meeting 3-0.

Edison at Spencer-Van Etten, 5 p.m. JV start: These two teams haven't played each other this season as they've been postponed twice.

Waverly at Newark Valley, 5 p.m. JV start: The Wolverines swept the teams' previous match.
