IAC VOLLEYBALL: NEWARK VALLEY FALLS TO EDISON (2018-10-11)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS - Newark Valley was looking to move its win-loss percentage above .500 Thursday evening, but ran into a solid Edison team along the way. The Spartans won by scores of 25-16, 27-25 and 25-19 to register a 3-0 IAC South Large School sweep.

Allie Wandell posted 12 kills and 10 digs for the Cardinals and Maddy Hartenstein handed out 21 assists and served up 10 points. Kayla Malarkey had 10 digs and three kills, and Chelsea Fuller added a block.

Reagan Seelye had 10 digs and eight service points, including three aces, for the Spartans (9-5). Mikayla Bush had seven assists and six points (1 ace), Ryleigh Carson had eight points (2 aces), Julia Klotz collected six kills, and Hailey Fierro and Ali Andriene added five kills each.

Newark Valley (6-7) hosts Waverly (9-4) Monday.
