SECTION IV BOYS SOCCER: NV, OWEGO OPEN PLAYOFFS AT HOME; SVEC GOES ON THE ROAD (2018-10-11)

TIOGA COUNTY - Newark Valley and Owego will open the Section IV postseason at home while SVEC will start the playoffs on the road.

The fourth-seeded Cardinals (7-5) will open Class C play at home Oct. 19 against No. 5 Walton (12-2-1). The winner advances to face the Chenango Valley-Windsor winner Oct. 23.

SVEC (8-7) seeded seventh in Class B, receives a first-round bye and visits No. 2 Dryden (12-2-1) Oct.19. The SVEC-Dryden winners faces the Chenango Valley-Windsor winner Oct. 23.

Also in Class B, Owego (0-14) hosts No. 9 Union Springs / Port Byron Monday. The Owego-US/PB winner visits top-seeded Oneonta (13-0) in the semifinals on Oct. 23.

With the exception of the championship, all games are played at the home of the higher seed and are scheduled to begin at  3:30 p.m. The finals will be played Oct. 27 at Wright National Fields in Oneonta.
