IAC VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR SWEEPS EDISON TO SET UP TITLE SHOWDOWN (2018-10-10)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS - Candor moved closer to claiming the IAC South Small School championship with a 3-0 victory over Edison Wednesday evening.

The Indians won, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-21, to set the stage for Friday's meeting with Tioga.

Jenna Kareem logged seven kills and seven digs, Braelyn Hornick contributed six kills and dished out 16 assists, and Shelby Swartz served up nine points, including seven aces.

Also pitching in on the victory were Megan Henry with 11 points and seven digs, Kori Strong with seven kills, Kailyn Edwards with seven assists and Jenna Huizinga with 11 digs.

The Spartans' Bella Willsey posted five kills and 12 digs, Hailey Fierro made five blocks, Jodie Burdock had 16 digs, Makenzie Lear had eight points, and Mikayla Bush chipped in with six assists.

Edison slips to 8-5 overall and in league play.

Candor (13-0, 12-0) hosts Tioga Friday evening.

JV Candor won, 2-1. The games scores were 25-20, 24-26 and 25-21.

Kadrianna Foster scored five kills for the Indians. Asia Curkendall contributed six assists, one kill, nine digs and seven service points; Addison Aman had 16 digs and seven service points; Shelby Soper had seven assists and five kills; Aryan Peters pitched in with seven digs and nine service points; Selah Ray added three kills and Brayden Watkins had seven digs.
