IAC GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: NV 3RD AT SOUTH DIVISION MEET (10 PHOTOS) (2010-10-09)
Tioga County Sports ReportNEWARK VALLEY - Newark Valley took third in a three-way battle at the IAC South Division Championship here Tuesday. Waverly would win the team title with 45 points, followed by Notre Dame with 50 and the Cardinals with 56.
Marissa Silba led the team with a runner-up showing, trailing only Notre Dame's Alyssa Walker at the finish. Walker ran a time of 20:44.5 and Silba posted a 21:17.4. Sophie Stewart placed fifth for NV in 22:06.5, Renee Reigel was ninth with a 23:09.2 Christina Knight took 17th in 24:08.9 and Colleen Reigel placed 24th with a 25:38.1.
Also competing for the Cardinals were Monica Escalante, 36th (31:10.1), and Charlotte Dunn, 37th (31:13.6).
Jenna O'Connell was the lead runner for SVEC, which finished sixth with 127 points. She placed 21st with a time of 24:55.727.Erin Bruttomesso led a group of four Eagles across the finish line. She took 27th with a 26:16.7, Mya Marsh was 28th in 27:11.6, Sandra Horackova placed 29th with a 27:21.2 and Delaney Fatcheric clocked 27:56.6 for 30th place.
Also competing for SVEC was Chelsie Rossen, 43rd (40:03.5).
