IAC BOYS SOCCER: SVEC OVERCOMES EARLY DEFICITS TO DEFEAT WAVERLY (2018-09-17)
Tioga County Sports ReportCANDOR - Lance Jensen recorded a pair of goals and Spencer-Van Etten / Candor rallied from a goal down - twice - to defeat Waverly, 6-2, in the rain in IAC South Large School action here Monday.
The Wolverines' Rylan Laforest scored the game's initial goal in the fourth minute SVEC's Lance Jensen netted the first goal of his hat trick in the 10th minute.
Peyton Bowen put Waverly back on top in the 15th minute, but the Eagles rallied to take the lead for good in the 16th and 17th minutes as Mason Holmes and Daniel Thomas found the back of the net.
Hunter King and Matthew Suttmeier each tallied in the final two minutes of the first half to give the Eagles a
5-2 lead at the break
Jensen sealed the victory with a goal midway through the second half.
Jacob Banks collected a trio of assists on the day, and Thomas, King and Holmes added one apiece.
SVEC took 39 shots and had 14 corner kicks while Waverly had three shots and two corners.
Cameron McIsaac recorded 18 saves for the Wolverines and Brayden Krebs had one for SVEC.
SVEC (2-5) hosts Odessa-Montour on Wednesday.
