OWEGO — Owego (Adams) broke a 6-6 deadlock with five runs in the fourth inning and went on to defeat U-E (Furney), 17-11, in Owego Little League 10U Tournament pool play Sunday.

Owego chalked up another five runs in the top of the sixth to secure the top seed for the A division bracket round.

Trailing, 3-0, Owego put together the first of its three big innings with a six-run second. Six singles and a pair of walks factored into the scoring.

U-E tied the score in its half of the inning, but Owego put up its second outburst in the fourth, building an 11-6 advantage. Four singles and a pair of walks aided the effort.

U-E closed the gap to 11-8 in the bottom of the frame. The teams went into the sixth with the score 12-9.

Dylan Brace's RBI double highlighted Owego's final uprising in which the team also rode three singles, two walks and an error to an eight-run cushion.

Brace had a field day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Payden Morales went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI; Anthony Ottaviani was 2-for-3 with two runs and four RBI; and Sawyer Miller was 2-for-4 with a double, run and RBI.

Cayden Adams went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI; Jordann Fernandez went 1-for-2 with three runs; Mason Schneider was 1-for-2 with a run and RBI; Lynkon Craft contributed a hit, run and two RBI; Jackson Barrows scored twice and Caden Morrow added a hit.

Adams went the distance on the mound, allowing just four earned runs. He gave up 11 hits and two walks, striking out one.

Owego drew the top seed for "A" division bracket play and will face the winner of U-E (Furney) and M-E (Hennessey) Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
