NEW YORK STATE BOYS TRACK & FIELD: CANDOR'S JENSEN STAYS TRUE TO HIS VOW (2019-06-07)
BY TIM TAYLORTioga County Sports ReportMIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Candor’s Lance Jensen vowed to do better the second time around at the NYSPHSAA Track & Field Championships. He did just that, finishing fifth in the Division II 400 hurdles preliminaries and qualifying for Saturday’s finals.
Jensen clocked 55.67 seconds and although his time was slower than his 55.51-second seed time, he did place higher than the projected seventh spot heading into states.
It turned out to be a big improvement over 2018, when he clocked 58.16 seconds to place 11th.
