IAC SOFTBALL: S-VE DROPS 2-1 NON-LEAGUE DECISION TO ITHACA (2019-05-16)

SPENCER — Ithaca picked up a pair of run in the top of the fifth inning to nip S-VE, 2-1, in non-league action here Thursday.

Lila Travers was hit by a pitch with one away, advanced to second on A Spada’s single and scored on Abby Hagen’s base hit. Spade would score the go-ahead run on an error.

The Panthers recorded the game’s initial run in the first. Madison Sousa led off with a single to left, stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball. Rhianna Lawrence drove her in with a single to center.

Sousa, Hannah Harmon, Lawrence, Abbie Kellogg and Shannon Connor all went 1-for-3 for S-VE with Kellogg hitting a double.

Hagen went 2-for-4 to lead the Little Red. Fiona Botz, Meena Colbdorf and Spada each went 1-for-3.

Lawrence scattered five hits, struck out one and walked none.

Jenna Plue recorded four strikeouts, walked four and gave up five hits.

S-VE committed three error, Ithaca had none.
