STAC SOFTBALL: OWEGO FALLS TO ELMIRA IN FIELD CHANGE (2019-05-06)

ELMIRA — Owego played as the home team, but clearly did not have home field advantage in a 6-2 loss to Elmira here Monday. With their field unplayable due to recent inclement weather, the Indians had to move their game to Elmira.

Owego managed to score a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Express pushed a pair of runs across in the top of the first and added two more in the second.

Grace Thomas went 1-for-1 with a run and RBI, Emma Howe was 1-for-3 with a run, Miki Worzel was 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Chelsea Sellars, Anna Felice and Summer Pierce each went 1-for-3. The hits by Thomas, Worzel and Sellars were doubles.

Owego hosts Corning at 5 p.m. today.
