NEWFIELD — Anna Greeno and Shelby Swartz combined on a one-hitter and the Candor bats rapped out 15 hits in an 18-0, five-inning IAC Division 1 victory here Monday.

Greeno went the first four innings, striking out four, walking three and allowing just one hit. Swartz closed out the game, giving up a walk while fanning two.

The Indians plated the only runs they would need in the top of the first as Swartz doubled, Jennah Kareem and Asia Curkendall walked. Swartz and Kareem scored on a Kailyn Edwards single and Curkendall made it 3-0 on Searra Allen’s base hit.

Addie Aman singled and scored on a Swartz double in the second, then Candor erupted for eight runs in the third.

Edwards started it out reaching on an error and scoring on Allen’s triple, and Allen scored on Emily Henry’s single. Aryan Peters would reach base safely, Aman would follow with a two-run single, Swartz reached on a fielder’s choice, Greeno walked and Curkendall delivered a two-run double.

In their second at-bats of the inning, Allen and Henry plated a run apiece with base hits. Arianna would sub in and contribute an RBI single, giving Candor a 12-0 advantage.

The Indians batted around for a third time in the fifth with Curkendall and Allen reaching on errors, Arianna Aman singled, Addie Aman reached safely, Swartz had an RBI single, Kareem walked and Greeno followed with an RBI single.

Curkendall’s second trip to the plate in the inning produced an RBI walk.

Allen was 3-for-4 on the day with three runs, three RBI and a stolen base; and Swartz was 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Henry was 2-for-2 with two RBI; Aryanna Aman was 2-for-2 with a run and RBI; and Addie Aman went 2-for-5 with three runs, two RBI and two stolen bases.

Curkendall posted a hit, three runs and three RBI; Edwards notched a hit, run and two RBI; Greeno chipped in with a hit, run an RBI; and Kareem and Aryan Peters added a hit apiece. Peters also had a stolen base.

Candor (8-2) hosts Southern Cayuga at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
