COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: NEWARK VALLEY GRAD BAKER MEETS AARTFC QUALIFYING STANDARD (2019-04-22)

CORTLAND — Newark Valley grad Molly Baker met the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference qualifying standard in the heptathlon at the Cortland Classic Friday and Saturday.

The SUNY Cortland freshman placed fourth overall, scoring 3,732 points.

She recorded two second-place efforts, clearing 5-0 1/2 in the high jump and heaving the shot put 32-11 3/4.

Baker was also fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:40.18 and sixth in the 100 hurdles, clocking 16.8 seconds.

She took eighth in two events, the 200 (28.43 seconds) and the long jump (15-0 1/2), and was 10th in the javelin (54-2).

The Red Dragons will host the CNY College Challenge today at 3 p.m.
