COLLEGE WRESTLING: NV GRAD SILBA PLACES 8TH AT REGIONALS (2019-02-26)

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Gianno Silba, a Newark Valley grad, placed eighth at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regionals last weekend.

The SUNY Cortland sophomore dropped his first-round match at 174 pounds with a 14-3 loss to Jordan Juliano of Centenary. He recovered to post an 18-1 technical fall in 4:40 over SUNY Oneonta's Jacob Mansman and a 10-3 decision against Gevorg Arakelov of Hunter.

Silba later dropped a 13-7 decision to Robert Gennat�of Stevens Institute of Technology (New Jersey) before losing by fall in 3:38 to Dominick Esposito of Merchant Marine in the seventh-place match. He ended the season with a 28-16 mark.
