THE WEEK AHEAD: BASKETBALL, TRACK & FIELD SHARE THE SPOTLIGHT (2019-02-25)

Tioga County Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY  - It's a light week on the sports front with the Section IV basketball playoffs and indoor track and field state championships stealing the spotlight.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
• Top-seeded Owego (18-1) will host No. 4 Waverly (20-1) in the Class B semifinals Wednesday evening with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

The victor meets the winner of No. 2 Norwich (19-1) No. 3 Oneonta (14-6) Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Floyd L. Maines Arena in Binghamton.

BOYS BASKETBALL
• No. 1 Owego (17-3) entertains No. 4 Norwich (13-6) Wednesday in a Class B semifinal. The game begins at 7:15 p.m.

The winner faces the winner of No. 2 Seton Catholic Central (18-3) and No. 3 Oneonta (14-5) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Floyd L. Maines Arena in Binghamton.

INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
• The 2019 NYSPHSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place at the Ocean Breeze Track and Field Facility on Staten Island Saturday. Events begin at 9 a.m.

Owego's Nate Bowers and Cameron Szabo have qualified, as well as Waverly's Isaac Chandler, Melina Ortiz and Sheridan Talada.
