SECTION IV GIRLS BOWLING: CANDOR COMPETES IN STATE QUALIFIER (2019-02-15)
Tioga County Sports ReportWAVERLY - Candor competed in the Section IV Girls Bowling State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center Friday.
The Indians placed eighth in Division 2 and 11th overall with a total pinfall of 6160. Their high series was a 2211and their high game was a 756. The team finished with a 678 average.
Individually, Mya Marsh and Sarah Emond placed in the top 40. Marsh was 38th with a 1373 and Emond took 40th with a 1260.
Marsh carried a 152 average for nine games going back to last week's class sectionals and Emond had a 140 average.
Stacy Emond averaged 135 over eight games (1082), Kaitlyn Johnston a 126 (1009) and Olivia Bennett a 125 (1007).
The top six bowlers not on a winning team will make up the Section IV "all-star team" that competes in the Composite tournament at states.
Union-Endicott won the Division 1 team championship and Maine-Endwell captured the Division 2 team title. The top six bowlers not on those two teams will represent Section IV at the New York State "Composite" Tournament.
