Tioga County Sports Report
ELMIRA - The STAC basketball championships are being held this evening at Elmira High School. Also on the schedule is the Section IV bowling state qualifier.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
STAC CHAMPIONSHIP
Owego (18-0) vs. Norwich (18-1), 6 p.m.: Norwich scored 20 points in three of four quarters and drained 10 3-pointers to rout Elmira, 72-57, in the semifinals.

Seven different players scored seven or more points for the 5th-ranked Purple Tornado, paced by Triniti Myers' 14 and 10 from Taylor Hansen.

The 4th-ranked Indians are led by junior guard Kaci Donovan (26.9 points per game), sophomore forward Evee Coleman (16.9 ppg) and Anna Felice (14.6 ppg). Donovan surpassed 1,000 career points early in the season and recently broke the school's single-season scoring record.

IAC SMALL SCHOOL JV CHAMPIONSHIP
Southern Cayuga at S-VE, 5 p.m.: The Chiefs had to win a tie-breaker to earn a date against S-VE.

BOYS BASKETBALL
STAC CHAMPIONSHIP
Owego (16-2) vs. Seton Catholic (16-3), 8 p.m.: Tommy Dempsey knocked down seven threes to lead the Saints to a 61-51 win over Elmira in the semis. Marcus Dyes added 16 points.

The 17th-ranked Indians are paced by senior guards Kobe Bryant and Christian Sage. Bryant, who eclipsed 1,000 career points this season, also set the school record for 3-pointers.

Seton is the defending STAC champion.

INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Section IV Championships at Ithaca College, 5 p.m.: Owego competes for spots in the state championship meet.

GIRLS BOWLING
State qualifier at Waverly (Valley Bowling Center), 9 a.m.
