NY STATE WRESTLING: TIOGA COUNTY GRAPPLERS EARN 4 DIVISION II AT-LARGE BERTHS (2019-02-13)

TIOGA COUNTY - The number of competitors representing Tioga County at the 2019 NYSPHSAA Division II Wrestling Championships has doubled.

At Large berths were awarded Wednesday to Newark Valley's Trentyn Rupert at 285 pounds, SVEC's Mark Mullen (182), and Tioga's John Worthing (138) and Stephen Taylor (285).

That quartet joins automatic qualifiers Cam Bundy (170) from Owego, SVEC's Dell Davis (195), and Tioga's Brady Worthing (132) and Austin Lamb (145). That group earned spots at states because they won their respective weight classes at the Section IV Division II championships Saturday.

Two other Tioga County wrestlers have been selected as first alternates for the state tournament - SVEC's Parker Sexton (132) and Waverly's Ethan Stotler (145). They would go to the state tourney if someone in their weight class withdraws.
