ENDICOTT - A 16-year-old record fell by the wayside Monday night as fifth-ranked Owego improved to 17-0 with a 66-52 STAC Metro victory over U-E here.
Kaci Donovan pumped out 22 points, giving her 454 points on the season. The junior guard broke the school single-season scoring record in the process. Kyle Dougherty, who would go on to play college ball at Villanova, set the previous mark of 448 in 2003.
Donovan made nine of 25 field goal attempts, making four of six free throw attempts in the process. She finished with a double-double, pulling down 11 rebounds. She also dished out for assists.
Evee Coleman scored 23 points on nine of 13 field goal attempts, went 5-for-5 at the line, grabbed eight boards and blocked three shots. Anna Felice contributed 13 points, making all six free throw attempts, and adding a 3-pointer. She also had three steals and three rebounds.
Ella Kopalek had four points on 2-for-3 shooting and had five rebounds. Lauren Angelone added two points, five assists and six boards, and Larissa Fisher had two points and eight boards.
The Indians led 20-12 after a quarter and 38-24 at halftime. The Tigers cut the lead to 47-36 in the third, but Owego got those three points back with a 19-16 fourth-quarter effort.
Owego finishes the regular season Wednesday at Ithaca.
