VESTAL - Owego pumped out a dozen 3-point baskets, including a record-setting trey by Kobe Bogart in an 84-63 STAC victory over Vestal here Monday.
Bogart canned four 3-pointers on the night, breaking the school record for career threes in the second quarter as the Indians built a 37-21 halftime cushion.
"Kobe was tremendous - 24 points and 11 rebounds," Owego head coach Chris Evans said.
Owego erupted for 34 points in the third period, where Bogart scored the final 10 points alf his game-high 24.
"Thirty-four points in the third quarter was kind of nice," Evans said.
The Indians also accounted for five treys during the third-quarter barrage. Two came off the fingertips of Brendan Evans, who also had four treys for the evening. Nate Bennett tossed in seven points as well.
"Brendan Evans was really good off the bench, as was Nate Bennett," coach Evan said.
Bogart scored six points and Mike Wasyln contributed five more as Owego jumped out to an 18-7 lead. Bogart tacked on eight more points in the second period and Christian Sage chipped in another six in the second period.
"Up and down game with a lot of excellent passes - when we share the ball we are pretty good," coach Evans said.
Owego (15-2, 10-2) is back at it again tonight at Ithaca (6-10, 4-8).
